George Vernon Lafford (1895-1917)


George Vernon Lafford, child of William and Mary Lafford was born in 1895.  Lived at 317 Ashley Road, Parkstone, in Poole.   Fought in WW1 (dogtag# Z/102) as a Rifleman in the 7th Bn., Rifle Brigade.  Died on Oct 13 1917 at the age of 22 in France.  Buried at Godewaersvelde British Cemetry in Nord in France.  A memorial for George Vernon Lafford can be found at St. Johns Heatherlands Church Parkstone,1914-1918 War Memorial in United Kingdom.
