Thomas Dix (1889-1914)


Thomas Dix, child of Thomas and Edith Jessie (nee Avey) - Born 1889 was born in 1889.  Lived at North Road, Parkstone, in Poole.   Fought in WW1 (dogtag# 8514) as a Private in the 2nd Battalion Dorsetshire Regiment of the Army.  Died on Nov 19 1914 at the age of 25.  Buried in Iraq.  A memorial for Thomas Dix can be found at Basra War Cemetery.  Their name features in the St Peter’s Church Roll of Honour 1914-1918 south side and Basra War Cemetery in Iraq.
