If I should die, think only this of me:

A body of England's, breathing English air,

Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,

Sidney Joseph Barnes (1891-1914)
Sidney Joseph Barnes, child of Sidney and Annie Barnes was born in 1891. Lived at Lytchett Minster, in Poole. Fought in WW1 (dogtag# 238979) as a Able Seaman in the H.M.S. “Hardy”. Died on Sep 15 1914 at the age of 23.
